The reagent kit is designed to detect RNA influenza A (Influenza virus A) virus in biological material (fecals/meths, mucous throat and trachea swabs, bird cloaks, internal body fragments (trachea, lungs, spleen, brain, air bags, intestines), chicken embryos, as well as in animal feed and products by reverse transcrypting and polymerase chain reaction with a real-time fluorescent decedent (PCR PV).

The type A influenza virus is capable of affecting not only agricultural animals and birds, but also humans. Wild birds are a major source of influenza A viruses for all other animals and humans. Most flu viruses cause unimptomable or mild infections in birds, however, the range of symptoms in birds varies greatly depending on the strain of the virus. Infection by some viruses of avian influenza A (H5 and H7 viruses) can cause widespread disease and death among some wild and especially domestic birds.
