The reagent kit is designed to identify DNA Salmonella enterica in biological material (intelicate blood, feces, parenchimatosis organs and lymph node), as well as food (including chicken eggs and other birds) and animal and plant feed, as well as in microorganisms cultures that are washed off the surface by DNA amplification with fluorescent section in "real time" mode.

A set of PCR-F-SALMONELLEZ-FASTOR reagents with electrophoric detection of amplification products in agarose gel (cat. No. FD14617-VET) is also available for the diagnosis.

Salmonellosis is an infectious disease of young farm animals. The acute form causes fever, septicaemia and diarrhoea; the chronic form causes pneumonia. Salmonellosis is one of the principal infectious diseases of calves. Morbidity in calves is 50–80%, with a case fatality of up to 70%; the figures for lambs and foals are 40–45% and 30–45%, respectively. Morbidity in piglets is 20–40%, with a case fatality of up to 50%.

Salmonelles are extremely dangerous from a sanitary point of view, and during the outbreak, diseased and ill calfs, pigs, lambs, releasing an enormous amount of salmonella into the outside environment contribute to the increase in the presence of these bacteria among adult animals, which encourages secondary salmonelles and, in the absence of the rules of animal and animal health testing, contributes to the outbreak of food toxic infections among humans.
