The reagent kit is designed to identify the DNA ornithosis agent (Chlamydophila psittaci) in biological material (birds are examined with mucus swabs with mucous, rot throats, conjunctives, cloakes, tissue and organs fragments, mites; mammals are examined with fluids/smears from conjunctives, tissue fragments and organs) using a polymeric chain reaction (PCR) with fluorescent section in real time.

Also available for diagnosis is the PCR-F-ORNITOS-FACTOR reagent package with electrophoric specification of amplication products in agarose gel (cat. No. FD14317-VET).

Ornithosis is one of the most common acute infectious bacterial diseases in birds, which are caused by the chlamydia intracellular micro-organisms (Clamydophila pittaci). The disease is known on all continents of the Earth. The PCR, as the most sensitive method of direct detection of chlamydia, does not require an immunological response to infiltration into the host ' s body, which enables monitoring of early stages of infection.
