The reagent set is designed to type (identify sub-types H5, H7, H9) of influenza A (Influenza virus A) viruses in biological material by combining the feedback reaction with the real-time polymeric chain reaction with the fluorescent unit (CPR PB).

The flu virus of type A is capable of affecting not only animals and birds but also humans. Wild birds are a major source of influenza A viruses for all other animals and humans. Most influenza viruses cause impotent or mild infections in birds, but the range of symptoms in birds varies greatly depending on the strain of the virus. Infection by some viruses of avian influenza A (H5 and H7 viruses) can cause widespread disease and death among certain species of wild and especially domestic birds.
