Aleutian mink disease (virus plasma cytosis) is a slow-growing infectious disease of ferrets and haemorrhagic diathesis, progressive anemia and depletion, which causes severe economic damage to the animal industry due to high lethality, reduced fertility, and poor puppy quality.

The virus is released to the environment with saliva, feces and urine and milk and semi-fertilizers, often caused by mating, less frequently than in alimentary and aerobic routes, and the transmission of blood-sucking insects and intra-utilities is not ruled out; mechanical vectors (service personnel, tools, etc.) and poorly cooked carcasses of slaughtered minks play an enormous role in spreading the disease.
