Intended use
Description
Indirect ELISA for detecting antibodies to avian influenza A virus H9 haemagglutinin in serum, plasma or egg yolk from chickens or turkeys.
- The only commercial quantitative ELISA for specific detection of the H9 antibodies.
- The only test for diagnosing H9 disease and monitoring vaccination in layers and breeders.
- Can detect field infection in vaccinated flocks (antibody titres increase after infection).
- It is well correlated with the hemagglutination inhibition test (HI), with the advantage that it is more reliable, fast and easy to use for analysis of large numbers of samples.
- An egg yolk testing protocol that reduces stress in laying hens.
